We aim to ensure disadvantaged children are exposed to STEM/STEAM learning competencies that will allow them to become equal players in today's technology driven world.

Our Beginning

After completing the first week of school, our founder, Pauline Miles was boggled down with several internal questions. So many of her students were performing below grade level in all academic subjects, a trend they had maintained since 1st grade. This was unacceptable! That night, AlignUP Kids became her answer.

“The direction in which education starts a man will determine his future life.”

— Plato

Miles worked diligently to design competencies and interventions to help her students embrace learning. She knew exposing her class to real world problems would tap into their analytical skills, thus bridging the gap and promoting life long learning. Children love to explore and create, STEM/STEAM along with an interrelated expository reading module would be the link for scholars to theorize, experiment, solve and ultimately learn.

Our Mission

To combat the widespread of students who are performing below grade level academically, AlignUP Kids will provide educational, cultural and social economic STEM/STEAM initiatives to under-privileged children ages 8-17 along with education consulting and professional development to schools and other educational facilities throughout the community.

93 million adults in the U.S. read at or below the basic level needed to SUCCESSFULLY contribute to society.

47 percent of fourth graders from low-income families read below the basic level.

50 percent of Black fourth graders scored below the basic level, as do 47 percent of Hispanic and 49 percent of American Indian fourth graders.

With an extensive calendar of STEM/STEAM camps, reading and math symposiums and creative art galas, AlignUP Kids plan to change the inner mindset of each student we serve and increase their aptitude, making them a highly contributing members of society.
